Bournemouth Region Associates
Annual Christmas Lunch
- Wednesday 6th December -
On Wednesday the 6th of December the Bournemouth Associates were all invited to a Christmas Lunch at the Wessex hotel on the Westcliff in Bournemouth.
The attendance was excellent with eighty-two Associates accepting the invitation.
The weather was dry and pleasant for a December day.
On arrival the committee greeted the members as they all assembled in the bar chatting and enjoying the company of their ex colleagues, before going in to the restaurant for the Christmas Lunch.
The menu was a traditional Christmas Lunch of roast tomato and sweet bell pepper soup with crème fraîche, traditional roast turkey with pork, sage & onion stuffing, pigs-in-blankets, Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables & gravy, followed by Christmas Pudding with brandy sauce.
The meal was completed with tea, coffee and mints.
Throughout the event we were entertained by a very good local musician,
After the meal a raffle was held with numerous lovely prizes.
A special thanks to Maureen Spicer who put a lot of effort into organising and buying all the prizes, and Chris Hockey, who helped with the draw. Also thank-you to Sue Craft for organising this very successful event.
It is the committee’s intention to hold a Christmas lunch every year, next Christmas a new venue will have to be chosen as the Wessex Hotel is going to be redeveloped.
