North West Area Associates
Christmas Lunch
- Wednesday 8th December -
Here we are again, early December and time for the highlight of the year our Associates Christmas Lunch at the Cresta Court Hotel in Altrincham.
This is an occasion that we all look forward to attending and is a chance to meet up with colleagues who had not managed to participate in our trips but still enjoy meeting up at Christmas.
The sound of chatter gathered momentum during the first hour as people were arriving, then we all found our places with past friends and colleagues in the dining room. The meal was on a par with the year before but the sprouts were softer this time!

Now down to the main events. Kevin Mitchell, chairman of the NW Associates Committee, gave a speech of thanks for everyone attending and especially for the Social Section of the Committee for all their hard work throughout the year in organising events, mentioning John Greatbanks for the five day trip he organises which is always a great success, Malcolm Faulkner who organised the Christmas Lunch free raffle and Ann Rodgers and Dilys Bray who take care of the presents for the ladies who seem to appreciate the Christmas gifts they receive each year.

An up-to-date account of Procter & Gamble's business was given by Manchester Plant Manager, Chris Horner, who assures us everything is fine and on track following a good year.
Next was a presentation to the oldest lady and gentleman and with photographs duly taken we carried on with the raffle.

Throughout the lunch a PowerPoint presentation was shown of photographs taken from our past year's trips. Judging by the comments at the end of the event, everyone does seem to enjoy and appreciate the benefits provided by the Associate Scheme and, in the case of the Christmas Lunch, Manchester Plant.
Nothing is wasted and the committee has agreed that any unused crackers, hats, poppers, etc. be donated to a local church for use at their Christmas Party for the homeless and they are gratefully received.
Here's to 2011 hoping to enjoy another year of fun and friendship on the organised outings.
