North East Associates 2008 Spring Event - 19th March

The start of the year's main events - near the end of the season of winter but in a warm place!

Well, it is nearly spring as over one-hundred of us enjoy our first 'open' get-together since October last year - and it appears that winter is still to come!

Gosforth Civic Hall was again the venue for our initial event of the year, indoors in a warm atmosphere.

We made short work of a few of these!

This was presented and hosted by staff from the
Northumberland Street store of Marks & Spencer in Newcastle.

Strawberries, cheese, savoury biscuits and chocolates were accompaniments to Sparkling Prosecco Rosé, Uco Valley Pinot Grigot, Cape Quarter Rosé, a Chateau Bordeaux, some very pink Pink Port and a Finest Reserve Port.

What's the verdict?

For fun we were asked to guess the price of each wine variety and token prizes were given.

M&S "Easter Bunny" chocolates as prizes for
Christine and Robina.

The afternoon was rounded off nicely when there was an opportunity for repeat tastings.

A very convivial meeting, and how fortunate that there were both Metro and bus stations close by.
