South East Associates Tilford Walk - 19th March
The March winds were evident today . .
Twelve Associates met by Tilford Green on a cold, blustery March morning for a six mile ramble in the Surrey countryside across the heavily wooded Crooksbury Common and up the heights of Crooksbury Hill with its far reaching views.

Tilford is a pretty village with cricket in summer on the village green and a beautiful ancient stone bridge crossing the River Wey. Nearby is the site of Waverley Abbey, which in 1128 was the first Cistercian Abbey to be founded in England.
Happily the sun came out and some strenuous exercise soon got us warm.
We were joined by another seven Associates for a convivial lunch at the Barley Mow pub overlooking the village green.
