Pamber Forest & Silchester Walk
- Tuesday March 17th -
Sixteen Associates turned up on a glorious day, for this charming walk which explored the paths and glades of Pamber Forest Nature Reserve and the quiet lanes around Silchester.

Woodpeckers were out in force and the forest showed the seasonal signs of returning to life after the very wet and occasionally very cold winter.
We skirted the edge the Roman City of Calleva, mysteriously abandoned in the 5th Century - and never built on.

A fine lunch and pint of Fuller's London Pride was to be had at The Calleva Arms in the village of Silchester.
