Cruising on the River on a Summer Afternoon
South East Region Associates
take to the Thames
- 10th June -
An idea, first formed in the cold days of winter when we dreamed of a sunny afternoon on a boat drifting along the Thames, finally came to fruition on Wednesday 10th June on a less than perfect summer day.

Forty-four Associates, partners and friends boarded the "Lady Margaret" private hire pleasure boat moored at Runnymede for a four-hour journey up the Thames to Windsor and return.

Once underway, the crew cooked up an excellent and plentiful BBQ with varied salads (and great puds!!). There was also a fully stocked bar.
The boat had a snug cabin downstairs and a weatherproof roof and "let down sides" to the upper deck when rain was heavy, affording us lovely views of beautiful reaches of the river and its wildlife with Windsor Castle in the distance.

Maybe helped by memories of recent hot days,
and despite all that the British weather could throw at us
-- rain, hail and even a small glimpse of the sun --
everyone had a good time.
As always with a P&G Associates gathering, the best part of all was to meet up with friends and colleagues to enjoy a sociable afternoon in attractive surroundings.

With acclaim all round, this kind of venue could be a winner again in the future.
