TRIP ON THE RIVER LEE IN HERTFORDSHIRE
On a slightly overcast day in May, 46 London Plant Region Associates gathered at the usual pick up point for an afternoons cruise on the River Lee in Hertfordshire.
First stop was the Fish and Eels public house in Dobbs Weir where a pre ordered hearty 2 course lunch for mid-day was waiting.
Following this we all boarded the boat which was moored beside the pub for a 2.5hour cruise through the hidden Hertfordshire countryside for historic Ware passing through 3 locks along the River Lee . On route we passed the Rye House Go Karting track where Lewis Hamilton the F1 driver started his career.
On board there was plenty of tea & coffee alongside the delights of a well stocked bar.
On arrival at Ware all disembarked for a stroll along the High Street in Ware to stretch the legs before heading home on the coach.
On arrival back at the drop off point it was agreed that a good day once again had been enjoyed messing about on the river. In fact this trip was so popular that it is being repeated later in the year with another group of Associates.
