Maidenhead to Windsor River Cruise
On September 14th after an eventful journey through typical Dartford crossing traffic London Plant Associates enjoyed a day on the river Thames taking a cruise from Maidenhead to Windsor. On an absolutely perfect sunny day 44 associates joined the boat at Maidenhead for a 1.1/2hr cruise to Windsor going through Boveney & Bray locks, passed Bray Studios where some of the hammer horror films were shot, continuing
passed Oakley Court, Monkey Island and Windsor racecourse before finally arriving at Windsor with a spectacular view of the Castle as we docked.
With 3.3/4hrs to spare in Windsor there was time for lunch and a meander around the
shops and the impressive railway station. At 3.45pm it was time to return to the river
to feed the swans and board the boat for the return journey to Maidenhead on the way
back through Bray lock we were helped by a Barry look-a-like (see picture). The journey home was less eventful and the end to a great day out.
