Golf Day - October 1st, 2008.

Although the weather had been very changeable for a few days we were all looking forward to our golf day.  This is very much a social day rather than a competition and although we play and receive prizes, if you are competitive and want to win at all costs this is not the day for you.
 

32 golfers, including 3 ladies gathered at 8 a.m. at the Top Meadow Golf Club to enjoy the hospitality of coffee and bacon sarnies and a social chat before the first foursome went out at 9 a.m.

The yardage on the card, tee to pin, totals 6002 yards and watching some of our "golfers" wandering back and forth looking for that little white object and then adding on the distance to walk from the pin to the next tee must have doubled the distance to cover.  Who said retirement was easy!
We had a yellow ball competition and of the eight foursomes taking part only four yellow balls were returned.  Oh well I can always get some more for our next day out.

Lunch was taken when all players were back in the club house, and prizes were distributed to the winners of the various competitions.
Joan Dawson won the ladies prize and was presented with a golf bag.
Arthur Reynold's son Gary won the main prize and was presented with a golf trolley.

Thankfully the weather was kind to us and every body enjoyed their day out.  The next golf day is already booked and will take place in March 2009.  To book or find our more details contact me.

Golf Day - March 5th, 2008.

A good day for our golf match.  We managed to play without the rain. 29 players attended.  This included one new Associate and one spouse. This was our largest turn-out so far.
