THE LONDON TRAMPERS AT BICKNACRE
MONDAY MAY 17th 2010
Twenty seven of us met at the Brewer's Arms where the landlord had agreed to open up early to allow us to pre order our meals. The walk was a repeat of our visit during Spring 2007, but now with some new faces in the group.

The route took us down a bridle path into a protected and well managed woodland area. This time of year presented us with a wonderful display of bluebells and other spring flowers plus a new a new covering of leaves on the trees, which was handy as it had started to rain and gave us some protection. The ground was a little muddy in places due to some rain over the weekend but manageable. Squirrels and plenty of bird activity entertained us as we enjoyed our peaceful setting. A circular walk of the wood bought us back to our entry point where we proceeded into fields and onto another bridle path. Fortunately by this time the rain had stopped.
Back at the pub the food was good and the drinks were welcome - the landlord appeared quite happy with the extra trade for a Monday lunchtime.
Time now to plan for our next walk in July.
