A Great Warm Up - the March 16th
London Plant Associates Ramble
was centred around The White Hart at Moreton
The weather is always a major factor on ramble events, and boy were we lucky on the first walk of the season.

The group before setting off for the walk.
The usual group photo and then "head them up and move them out" over the brick road bridge and down on the meadows that follow the Cripsy Brook as it winds its way into the distance. Considering the weather of late, the grass on the walkways and the lack of mud (other than patches where the moles had been busy), made the stroll pleasant and easy going.
On the way we negotiated a few stiles and bridges, passed some paddocks and a large kennel complex complete with a pet cemetery, then onwards to the halfway point where the remainder of the walk would involve road walking. At that point a group decision was taken and it was agreed, lets go back the way we had come. That suited me and, of course, it's safer.
Back at the pub the food was very good, the atmosphere pleasant, and all agreed a good day.

The White Hart at Moreton.
The White Hart came with high recommendations. It did not disappoint.
Reviews noted that
"The White Hart has been welcoming to walkers for over 25 years. It is highly recommended. It will leave you running out of superlatives. Although it may seem a little out of the way, the experience of superb food in such a comfortable setting is all worth it.
Not many places can carry off an old-style setting with stylish furniture but this is one pub that does. With typically low ceilings, the atmosphere is intimate but not squashed.
On offer is a range of food from la carte, mostly made from local produce in the evenings to a traditional Sunday-roast. It also boasts a mouth-watering lunch menu and an extensive wine list.
The pub is quite frankly, a joy. Not only is it a massive hit with the locals, it has also become a much spoken-about country venue to mark any occasion."
