London Associates visit another cathedral city
Wednesday, August 11th 2010
On Wednesday 11th August 44 Associates started out at 09.00 from Grays for a day trip to Winchester. We hoped the weather would be kinder than our previous visit there when it rained most of the day. This time we were lucky, with a sparkling sky as we traversed the Queen Elizabeth bridge.

After a brief stop at the M3 services we arrived at Winchester at mid day in time for everyone to find a suitable place for lunch.
The Guildhall's green roof beckons as we enter the centre of the town.
Winchester is a wonderful and interesting town with some lovely attractions to visit, and bustling with life, as our photographer Derek's pictures show.

After lunch everyone did their own thing, some visiting the Cathedral, Military museums and of course the excellent shops.

As hoped the rain held off and we finally made our way back to the coach at 16.30 for our return trip home having had an enjoyable day.

Some of the group pose for a photo before leaving town (with their shopping). Click here to enlarge this photo (in a separate window).
