North West Associates
- Crich Tramway Village -
Home of the National Tramway Museum
Wednesday 23rd July
We are pleased to invite you and your partner/friend to enjoy a day out with
the Manchester Associates on a visit, including lunch, to
Crich Tramway Village in Derbyshire – home of the National Tramway Museum.
The trip will include coach travel from the usual pick-up points. Please refer to your magazine insert for details.
It is expected that after the last pick-ups the coaches will leave the Manchester area at about 10:00 and return around 18:00.
As usual the exact coach times for pick-up and arrival home, and full details of the day, will be sent to you nearer the time.
The attraction hosts a large museum and restored village with lots of shops, a sculpture park and woodland walks. Our visit includes unlimited tram rides throughout the day, hopefully with a restored Manchester tram in service.
We will have exclusive access to the restored Red Lion Hotel with an included buffet lunch from:-
Hot Soup, Jacket Potatoes, Cottage Pie, Salmon Goujons, Pizza Slices,
Various Sweets, Jugs of Juice, Water and Coffee.
There’s also a real ale bar, complete with pianist.
If you would like to join this outing, please complete the magazine booking form as appropriate and send it, together with your cheque, no later than 4th July, 2008.
The cost of the trip will be £12 per person by cheque made payable to
'Manchester P&G Social Society.'
This trip is subsidised by the Associate Scheme.

Volunteer Committee
A request from Kevin Mitchell - Chairman
One of the primary activities of the Associate Scheme is to operate "a contact and visiting programme which can provide support and social contact for elderly, infirm or bereaved Associates".
The people doing this work are all volunteers from the Associate community. At present the Manchester Volunteer Committee is predominately male.
A warm welcome would be given to any female Associates who would be prepared to to join them in their work.
The person must be:
An Associate, or
The wife of an Associate, or
The widow of an Associate.
Access to a car is important as volunteers need to visit Associates in their homes or places of residence.
Training will be given and relevant expenses can be recovered. Meetings of the group are held four times a year at Manchester Plant. If you are interested please contact the "P&G Associate Scheme" at DPS Consultants.

Please note that we are happy to arrange a contact or a visit for any Associate who requests this. However there may be some people on the visit schedule who feel that they do not now need this as satisfactory contact is made through one of the many successful social events.
