CAPTAIN'S REPORT
13 Members were treated to a stunning day out at Foxton, with the most perfect weather, blue sky and a cooling breeze. The morning's session saw the competition for three trophies; The Gosforth Park Centre Cup (best net),the Sharpe Andrews Tankards(best stableford) and the Spring Salver(best stableford for handicap over 16). Neil Bradley won the Gosforth Park Centre Cup with a net of 67,with Bill Dobson runner-up on 69. Mark Haefner won the Sharpe Andrews Tankards with 36 points on count-back from Bill Dobson. Tony Davison won the Spring Salver with 27 points, with Al Pretty runner-up on 26. In the afternoon the Maurice Cooper Rosebowls were competed for in a 4 ball better ball stableford format by 6 pairs, complemented by continued perfect weather conditions. Paul Cushing and Stan Laidler won with an excellent score of 42 points with Barry Woods and Bill Dobson runners-up with 39 points. The longest drive was won by Barry Woods and nearest the pin by Mark Haefner.
