Handicaps/Golfer of the Year points
After review and consultation the Handicap Committee (well, the Secretary, Captain and Mel!) we have decided to recommend the following Handicap system for use this year. We intend to intend to review this with you all over bacon rolls at Brancepeth. All handicaps will be based on the results from stable ford competitions off full handicap assuming that 36 points is equivalent to the competition standard scratch. The adjustments will be made as follows:   Anyone scoring more than 36 points will have a reduction per point above 36 consistent with the reductions from the CONGU system depending on their handicap i.e.
0-6 handicap 0.1 stroke reduction/point above 36
7-12 0.2 stroke reduction/per point
13-20 0.3 etc
20-28 0.4 etc
In addition the winner will receive an additional 1 or 2 stroke reduction depending on the size of score an margin of victory to be determined on the day. There will be a buffer zone down to 34 points where no change will be made to handicap. For 33 points and below there will be an increase in handicap of 0.2 strokes irrespective of handicap category. For scores of 25-29 there will be a 1 shot increase and below 25 points a 2 stroke increase. Over a short period of time this should ensure that everyone has a chance of winning and we can review again the process. So, with that in mind congratulations to all the winners, but the "piper has to be paid" - with the following handicap changes :
