Seventeen members contested the last event of the 2007 season at a very tough Matfen course,with strong winds and frustratingly long rough (yes I know we're not supposed to be in the rough ,but......)
The morning's 9-hole sweep was won by Geoff Brown (20pts), from Stan Laidler(18 pts) and Duncan Walker (17pts on count back vs Bill Dobson).
In the afternoon session four trophies were competed for:
- Caygill Cigarette Box (best net)
- Michael Doughty Memorial Trophy (stableford)
- Prince William Tankard (stableford,runner-up)
- The Captain's Trophy amongst present/past Captains/Vice Captains (stableford)
and the usual longest drive and nearest the pin.
The Caygill Cigarette Box was won by Duncan Walker with a net of 72, Mark Haefner was runner-up with net of 84.
The Michael Doughty Memorial Decanter was won by Bill Dobson (33pts) with Gordon Waugh runner up (31 pts).
The Prince William Tankard was won by Lee Feetham (32 pts) with Geoff Brown runner up (28 pts).
The Captain's Trophy was won by Peter Sheavills with 26 points.
The longest drive was won by Stan Laidler.
The nearest the pin was Peter Sheavills.
