"Not sure if everyone knows, but I checked on Saturday and you can get FREE METRO travel if hold a valid theatre ticket for that evening - as follows:-

Newcastle Theatre Royal- 2 hours before & 2 hours after performance
Sunderland Empire - 1 hour before & 1 hour after performance

Saves the frantic search for a parking place and car park fees".
